TMDs in Electrocatalysis
Keywords : Electrocatalysis, Nitrate reduction reaction, Hydrogen evolution reaction
Keywords : 2D materials-based electrocatalysts, Electrochemical nitrate reduction, Catalyst design

Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) feature atomically thin structures and high surface-to-volume ratios, which provide abundant catalytically active sites and result in enhanced catalytic performance. The nitrate reduction reaction (NO₃RR) is an electrochemical process that converts nitrate (NO₃⁻) into ammonia (NH₃) or other nitrogen-containing products. This research focuses on the development of high-performance electrocatalysts by engineering 2D TMD-based systems, aiming to establish scalable and efficient electrocatalytic platforms for environmentally benign nitrogen conversion and next-generation energy-related electrochemical technologies.
